Metal Sky – TRZTN featuring Eiko Hara (+ more new singles)
Metal Sky is, for now, the latest video and song collaboration from TRZTN aka Tristan Bechet. TRZTN is releasing singles regularly and although I find it hard to keep up with music and life in general, I am excited about this work I’ve always loved his previous work. It looks like he has collaborated with a handful or more of artists and will eventually release an entire album. Watch him for singles and the album “Royal Dagger Ballet”.

Metal Sky video features breathtaking aerial videography and a dancer who seems to be very well-versed in ballet. Directed by Nisian Hughes. Watch it here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aJrXSSnAkg
Visually, Metal Sky is a stunning juxtaposition of the human form and man made urban cityscape.
It’s four minutes long but with all the visuals it flies right by and seems a lot shorter. I strongly suggest watching it if you are into city landscapes and the human form which I just so happened to be. For those of you who have taken life drawing or anatomy the dancer in this video would be quite a great model to draw as they have an extended flexibility and you can see the musculature clearly
Secondly, the song Metal Sky is a sprawling soaring piece of electronica. It’s as vast as the video landscapes. Again I lament over not having proper bass or subwoofer capabilities at this time. There is a really low frequency bass line which plays very well with Eiko Hara’s voice. The other percussion and or bass is complementary and somewhat subdued. One fine subtlety are the background vocals that fade in and out. This is a touch anyone who admires TRZTN’s previous work may appreciate. (or audio engineer types with a penchant for panned , tweaked human voice) It’s subtle but way cool , adding yet another layer that completes the whole song. Metal Sky sounds like it could be a soundtrack for someone gliding high above the landscape created in the video.
If you’re familiar with TRZTN’s other work, this one is more refined, mature, and less abrasive than the earlier years.
As a result, I find that exciting. I love watching artists develop over time. If you like music that is cleverly programmed, composed, and given room to evolve.. I urge you to check out his other singles. The first has a brief mention here. The second, entitled “Ruby’s Wheel” featuring Yesh came out rather too quick for me to get a decent review on. However you can absorb it herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4XI9y5U5DQ
In conclusion, his back catalogue includes two bands I love and was fortunate enough to see. Flux Information Sciences and Services. If you do you’ll get a fuller picture of what TRZTN has done and it frames this current work nicely . However this new work easily stands on its own. As a fan this evolution is very satisfying. Support his services if you can.
