Corey O’Brien Santa Cruz

This Vintage Skateboarding Santa Cruz tee shirt is not for sale. Strictly for nostalgic display. The black ink is starting to fade and the red of the shirt is coming through there are pinholes but I would say overall in fair condition and it is priceless to me.

This vintage Santa Cruz Corey O ‘Brien shirt is a skateboarding treasure. You could not go wrong back then. Jim Phillips‘ illustrations are iconic.

It was a gift from a good friend named Frank. I don’t know why he gave it to me but I can say it fit me a little bit big still does. There’s something special about a shirt that a friend gives you. It has been in my possession over 20 years and that’s conservative estimate.

The back graphic is definitely top notch especially the way the skull Grim Reaper is hurling Fireball but the front is particularly interesting to me. The way the artist chose the show the skull from that view it’s not your typical viewpoint usually it’s straight ahead or 3/4 skull View he also see quite a few profiles but they chose to show you the top of the skull and added the Santa Cruz logo. Is a very underrated and iconic logo.

I still remember Corey O’Brien ‘s part in the Santa Cruz video Streets of Fire. Featuring lots of tricks that go “to tail”. Music by Pailhead (with Ian Mackaye and Al Jourgenson). Pinball. Man, skateboarding was cool then.

It’s grainy, I do not own the rights to the clip but still a fun clip. Vintage Corey O from the one of two Fire videos (Santa Cruz) like to see it ? Here it go.

As always thanks for stopping by. If you want to submit your collectible for the world to ogle over I am accepting contributions. The idea is to share cool hard to find things. In rare cases – reissues could be acceptable as far as skateboarding paraphenalia.

Here are some categories of collectibles that interest me , or that I know a few acquaintances collect. The lower on the list the more I would need someone to give me info about the artifact itself.
