Ultimate Best Public Enemy Patch
Public Enemy patch. Traveling back to late 1980’s. Circa 1988 or 1989. In my opinion hip hop is in its golden age. Native tongues, Cold Chillin Records artists, and of course Public Enemy. Sure , I could continue listing artists and crews but that is not the gist of this piece. Also I am not trying to exclude artists. Simply taking us back in time. Before getting into that here is one of the best medleys of Public Enemy music ever. In my opinion of course. Don’t forget to check out https://www.publicenemy.com/
This patch is usually attached to the back of a jacket. The patch is mine and not for sale. This is one of the most important hip hop albums of all time in my opinion. I could sing the praise of this record track by track and geek out on other aspects of it.. I won’t do that this is just highlighting and important piece of memorabilia and basically an homage to Public Enemy. I’ll never forget the days after discovering this record. We would skateboard a mini ramp with this cassette playing over and over. Also many of my friends happened to be caucasian and back then it was a risk wearing anything that said Public Enemy. Different times.
Additionally I had the bumper sticker of the Public Enemy logo and typeface on my car. An officer of the law did not appreciate it and thought the guy in the crosshairs was supposed to be a police officer. Anyone without their head stuck up their rectum and knows anything of this logo can tell you it is not that. Rather it’s a dude in a RUN DMC or early hip hop style hat in the crosshairs instead. A rapper or B – boy.
But whatever I’m not trying to play the victim. The cop is convinced that Public Enemy and me are 100% anti police. I guess they will think what they want.
Again, not to trying to go off the rails, but rather shed the spotlight on this revolutionary hip hop group. If you have any Public Enemy stuff like this rare patch send it my way. Conversely if you’ve got anything you want it featured send it in. First check out my other items linked below. Doesn’t necessarily have to be hip hop, vintage Star Wars stuff, 80s skateboarding. Doesn’t hurt to try. So check out some of the other items featured here. https://meatsheetfanzine.com/blog/paraphenalia/ Enjoy.
